Abstract

In the current context, directive leadership in educational institutions is exercised from a new virtual scenario, which causes concern since the change from the physical to the totally virtual can generate a lag in the exercise of leadership. Around this, the research was generated with the purpose of determining the relationship between directive leadership and virtual communication, focusing on educational institutions of Regular Basic Education, the methodological design was descriptive correlational of non-experimental type and of cross-sectional cut, with the application of a questionnaire of 28 questions addressed to 70 teachers. As main results, the correlation was obtained by applying Spearman's Rho of 0.757 considered "high" with a significance lower than 0.05, which implies a strong correlation; However, a rho of 0.390 was also obtained in relation to the relationship dimension between the members of the virtual community, ranking as “low”, which would be a product of the new virtuality scenario
