Abstract

Nosodes are homeopathic preparations from biological compounds that have shown beneficial effects for the control of phytopathogens. The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of the application of nosodes in tomato plants infected with Fusarium oxysporum under controlled conditions. A completely randomized design with a 3A×3B factorial arrangement was applied, with factor A being the application method and factor B being the dynamizations. Nine treatments and a control group were included, in triplicate. The nosode was prepared from a strain of the pathogen F. oxysporum. The application of the nosode was carried out foliarly, edaphically and by injection, prior to the inoculation of the pathogen in the vegetative state of tomato plants. The nosode was applied in dynamizations of 6C, 12C and 30C. Morphometric variables (weight and length), chlorophyll content and percentage of severity were determined. The treatment with edaphic application and 6C dilution considerably reduced the symptoms of the disease by 50%. The response was also increased in all morphometric variables such as plant length and weight (130cm; 180gr), root length and weight (30cm; 30gr), total chlorophyll content (12.7 mg/g), compared to control treatment (plant/root length: 109 cm; 13 cm; plant/root weight: 140 gr; 15 gr; total chlorophyll 4.6 mg/g). The nosode made from F. oxysporum optimized the variables evaluated in tomato plants, particularly the percentage of severity. The research contributes to show the beneficial potential of applying homeopathy in agriculture.
