Abstract
In recent years, Central American countries such as Mexico and South America, Brazil, Peru and Colombia, with tropical climates, in addition to other Asians such as China, India, and others from the Middle East, have become new and important grape producers (OIV , 2013). This phenomenon has been produced mainly thanks to the adaptability of Vitis vini?fera L, the selection of new varieties and patterns, and the development of new cultivation techniques. For the seventies with the plant materials and the level of knowledge of viticulture, MASSABO (1970), alludes to the first modern reference about the development of Ecuadorian viticulture, hints that in our country, the development of viticulture could be one of its crops are highly potentiated, pointing out the possibility that, with proper crop management, grapes are produced all year round. The development of viticulture in the northern coastal zone of the neighboring country Peru is a reference of the potential that the development of viticulture may have in the southern part of Ecuador. Peru is currently the fifth largest producer in the world and with plans to continue progressing in the coming years. The cultivation of table grapes can offer farmers and investors another agricultural alternative, allowing them to stay in this activity with a minimum of between 5 and 10 hectares. planted, being enough to enter the market and have a suitable profitability and to establish itself in the market. The development of the crop would provide new jobs to the community of Manglaralto.
