Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of the research were to identify and determine the scolitid diversity, abundance and diversity indices associated with Teak plantations in four provinces of the Ecuadorian coast. To determine the diversity in the plantations, a total of 144 flight intersection traps were installed at a height of 1.30 meters, above ground level. those that were primed with 175 mL of alcohol at 96 ° and 75 mL of distilled water, the specimens were collected every eight days during the months of July, August, September and October 2018. The identification was carried out in the microbiology laboratory of the Quevedo State Technical University with the help of a stereomicroscope and dichotomous keys. A total of 15.181 scolytids were collected from the plantations, of which 1897 individuals were found in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, 3784 in the province of Los Ríos, 3747 in the province of Esmeraldas and 9500 in the province of Guayas.
